SGP introduced boredom into my imaging routine for the first time since I started AP about 3 years ago. I actually have time now to close the laptop long enough to look at the sky with dark adapted eyes. Before SGP, it was non – stop problem solving all night. I rarely had a chance to actually look up from the computer. Awesome software.

Thanks to SGP, I can do visual observations too… I am also seriously considering running a second rig next to the first one. I can go back to visual again after I stream line the second rig…

This software makes what little clear sky I seem to get recently fully usable – I can pre plan the targets, set-up, kick off the sequence and just leave the software to it.

Data captured over two nights using SGP with auto focusing before each sub and fully automatic meridian flips with camera rotation. Basically two full nights of unattended imaging. I am extremely happy with the results SGP allows me to get. Great job guys!

I have been using SGPro for around 16 months now and, after an initial steep learning curve, a lot of back and forth to the manual and of course this great forum, everything just seems to work. SGPro will always be my preferred go to astro software of choice. I will not be looking at any other, all in one, astro software package for a very long time to come.

I’m a little bias but I love SGP. Sometimes I can’t believe how much SGP has transformed my imaging experience.
When I started this image M74 didn’t get high enough until after midnight. At the time I was imaging another object that got too low in the sky by about 1am. So for about two weeks I was imaging two objects in different areas of the sky. This necessitated multiple meridian flips and plate solves etc, and everything worked beautifully. I love getting a good amount of sleep while capturing these images!

I know M42 has been done to death, but I wanted to go pretty deep on this one. This is a 4-panel mosaic taken with an EdgeHD14 and Hyperstar at f/1.9. Camera is a QHY10 OSC. Each panel is 50x180s with another 50x10s and 50x30s for the center to preserve the core. The only thing I did at the scope was roll off the roof and plug everything in (automation for that is coming soon). SGP took care of the rest. What a joy it is to image while sitting in the warm easy chair drinking an adult beverage while SGP is hammering away in the 15 degree cold producing stunning images.

SGP is like magic, SGP slewed, plate solved and centered on my target to within 30 pxs. Told me how far to rotate my camera for the mosaic, did the autofocus, fired up PHD2 started guiding and stated imaging. Yep, time for a Meridian Flip, did that for me too. What a GREAT piece of software!

My Gemini-2 hand controller died and I finally decided to send it in for repair/replacement. Scott repaired it for a good price and upgraded the firmware in the main controller board. He also reinforced the DIN connectors for the motors. So, after about a month without imaging, I turned SGP on… and it just works.
Great software.

As 2016 winds to a close, I want to take this moment to thank Ken and Jared for making SGP the “Superstar” of image capture applications.
I’m heading into my third year of using SGP, and cannot imagine being without it. Furthermore, I’m a fervent evangelist for SGP and have been thanked by many friends for introducing it to them.

Beta 353 is running perfectly for me. I have run it for the past 2 nights for 11 hours each night on 2 scopes. 3 targets, 3 flips, about 90 total focus runs. Everything running without a hitch. Last night was particularly challenging. I had two spells of overcast weather. Recovery mode kicked in and when the clouds cleared, images were in focus and continued as if nothing had happened. I have temperature compensation enabled, and Smart Focus enabled. Smart Focus brought both scopes, which were way out of focus, into perfect focus at the start of the session.
This product is just about ready for prime time. All issues I have encountered during this Beta phase have been fixed. This is far and away the best version of SGP I have ever used.

SGP worked great including auto Meridian Flip and auto centering. It was so good that I was getting 2″ FWHM. I used to auto guide with guide scope but this time it was with OAG. The “Pause guiding during auto focus” worked great with OAG to avoid PHD2 getting confused when guide star gets out of focused during auto focus run.

My latest image using SGP. 9 hours over two nights. No meridian flips required for this one. All went as planned and I am quite happy with it. It was a 1st with new filters – and again SGP came up trumps!

Thanks for your amazing program.
Last night I got 4 hours of images out of 6 possible hours with 2.5.2.1. Since I was shooting 2 minute subs and have it set for autoguider settle at 0.2 pixels for 13 seconds and focusing every 0.5 degree temperature change, I think this is pretty darn good and shows that I was imaging non-stop with zero problems! Especially considering the half hour when the temperature was all over the place and I was focusing every other frame.

First clear evening for days so I had the SGP sequences set up in advance. After focusing and ‘centre here’ (which didn’t seem to work well for me) I went ahead and ran a sequence of four targets. Perfection. Each target centered to within 100 pixels (my test setting) and watched; usually two attempts were all that was needed to place the target within ~10 pixels, so all the images were excellent
